Is this a test!?

I talked about one girl in the last thread I posted. We were real cool w. each other and when we were messaging each other we had a good conversation/flow going. At the end I gave her my number and she said she would talk to me and that I should say hi to her in person. I sent her another message ONE week later, and she just flat out ignores me. I do not understand it. Did someone say something about me to her? There is another girl who is my friend, and when I told her about this new girl I talked to she got kinda frustrated and tried to give me the wrong advice. I am no longer gonna let this bother me, but what could some possible reasons be? I was not creepy, I brought up normal conversations. I also see her everyday, but Not I may just sit w. some other friends so I don't have to.
