I got a letter from someone on facebook telling me my girlfriend went out on a date with another guy a few days before my birthday. I just got this last night i don't know how i should approach her about this. I just told her i wanted to speak to her in person before so we will be meeting today after work.
Ask her about it... don't accuse her, just let her know that someone is in your business and ask if she knows them.
Can't stress this strongly enough, so I'll say it again: don't accuse her of anything. There are a lot of haters and assholes on FB, take any message you get on there with copious amounts of salt.
I agree with Chup. Do not accuse. It might be someone being a jerk or trying to sabbotage your relationship. It is FB afterall, not your best friend telling you to your face or with photos as proof.

Have you both agreed that you're exclusive? Was this, in fact, a date and not just friends having dinner? Who's this mystery friend that told you this?
If it's true, then you've been betrayed and have to act accordingly.
