Another FB message problem

I have been emailing a girl on Facebook for a few weeks (I know this is a relatively long time, but it does include a holiday abroad). I suggested that she adds me as a friend, to see my holiday pictures, but hasn't. I suspect she probably just glanced the email, and forgot to add me.

What I would like from you good people now is some advice on how to take things further.

Should I now request her as a friend?

How do I get her phone number off her? Do you know any good ways of asking?

Also, we don't live near each other, but neither of us are bothered about that. Should that change anything in how we do things, at least in the initial stages?

In my experience when people do not take your suggestion to add them as friends they do it on purpose. I think it might be a conscious decision.

I agree with Mish. If I don't add someone, it's because I don't want to. I'm on FB enough to know if I've got pending friend requests.

Perhaps she has a boyfriend, or some other attachment she doesn't want you to know about.

So let me get this straight...you've been messaging this girl on facebook that doesn't live anywhere near you. You suggested that she add you as a friend and take a look at your holiday pictures, she never added you. Now you're asking us if you should try to add her. Well chances are she's not going to accept. I'm sure she read your message and if she wanted to, she would have.

You're asking how to take things further? How to get her phone number? You haven't even gotten your foot inside the door. Imho, give up. Most people just want to be friends on facebook, it's not a dating site.
