I Took a Chance
I took a chance at what I thought could be
opened my closed heart but found someone to set it free
He came into my life out of the deep blue sky
the first day we met I looked to God and asked why
There was something special and different about him
i had these feelings that were growing within
the time we shared was incredible to say the least
everytime Id look into his eyes my knees became week
i took a chance and took a very big risk
Id try to write why i fell in love but couldnt make a list
he opened my heart, body, mind, and sould
but the last couple of months I had lost control
i wanted nothing but happiness for him
but i knew in my heart i wouldnt win
i tried to make the best of a situation going wry
i'd do what i could, or bail, but knew I had to try
i took a chance knowing the pain could be severe
and here i am today, wiping those tears
i took a chance not knowing a thing
hoping this wasnt going to be a fling
i took a chance and opened my heart and my life
to something that I knew or felt was just right
i took a chance and have no regrets
for I gave it my all, and I gave it my best
i took a chance and now it's not meant to be
but I will always be thankful to him for setting me free.

thats beautiful amy, and a good start to your book of poems :)

Like we all take a chance, what life is...questions. Our chances give those answers. However it usually begs more questions, and endless loop. The goal of life is to find the purpose to all those questions.
I'm glad your writing though, your thoughts are the key to unlocking not only what you hold inside, but to those you felt when you write the very words. (wow, I like...another quote...yay!)

no innova, the goal of life is survival, take a look at the world around you, the questions irrelevant, wether you are able to ask it or not, however, is.
-
On a Biological level, yes survival technically is the goal of life, but if we are not fullfilled mentally as much as we are physically, then no balance can exist, and thus no life in the sense of a dream..can exist.
The Evolution of thought is what keeps humanity searching for more, not the now "taken for granted things" such as the air you breath, or the water you drink. Remember, anyone can ask a question, but the wanting outcome is alway an answer...Its the mystery that drives you to know more.

Thanks you guys for giving me the encouragement to write. It does help, it heals. I definetly like the new qoute Innova! Wish I could pull that out of my ass! j/k you just know!
Clifton, I will start a book. I only write it and then post it. Most of the time they end up in the trash.

The fact that im still alive is what keeps me going. but we are all difference and have different perspectives on things like this. My life without music is meaningless, however, without a creative outlet i WOULD be dead, but IM NOT, so i continue on the path ive been given.

Nice
Nice and beautiful poem.
You might reconsider some rhymes and words but is ok for beginning.
Try not to force the words, let them grow, take shape and life.
A good poem not always gets its rhyme from words and syllabus but from what feelings he succeeds to give birth.
One last little advice: it's very useful to read the poem loud in your mind to see how it sounds.
Keep up the good work.
You never know what is going to happen unless you try.
