Hello!
This really has nothing to do with grabbing my crush's attention...well, maybe a little, but I would like to improve the way I look overall. Without makeup, because I don't like makeup or anything like that. I don't want to go over the top; I just want to look nice and feel confident about my appearance. Any advice is appreciated! Keep in mind that I am 12 years old.

Hi kittyluvr, I think you're too young to worry so much about your appearance, but I do think it is sweet, nonetheless, that you want to impress a boy whom you have a crush on. You should mainly focus on your attire. What do you think is stylish and yet appropriate for girls your age to wear in contrast to what you are wearing now?

12 old girls don't need makeup because you have nice skin. Just wear something cute and girly.
Ahh, at 12 I still was playing with Barbies.. almost. Just went to highschool and didn't wear make-up till 16 years old. But I'm old now hee hee, 29. ;)
Anyway, try wearing your hair other than you usually do, or wearing something a little more feminine maybe? You know, not adult per se, but just, something cuter than usual, I felt amazing then when I wore a cute skirt or top that was more feminine than usual for me. But for us to give proper advice, we'd have to know your usual clothes/looks. ;) But generally, I'd say wear something that makes you feel prettier than normal, then it wouldn't be the outfit, but your confidence that's boosted that makes you look more pretty. Trust me, a good dose of confidence is more attractive than anything. :)

That's true, confidence comes from within. Get to like yourself and learn what clothes, colours look best on you. Become better at your hobbies, sports or studying, this will boost your confidence in yourself in general. Be friendly, positive and smiley.
You really don't need make up if you are 12. Use lip balm to keep your lips nice especially during winter time. If you want to have make up for special occasions, a bit of mascara (for practice) and maybe light lip gloss is more than enough. You are right not to go over the top with make up. Even girls twice as old as you with lots of make up on look grotesque sometimes.
Take care of your hair and skin, though. Have enough sleep, eat healthy and be active.
