She says that she needs a break

So ya me and this girl that we will call Susan have been dating for about 2 months now, the past 2 months have rocked, she has told me that she has never felt this way about any one and that she loves me and all that. Now I know what you are thinking, your thinking that she says this to all of the people that she dates, well not true, and how do I know this? Well the last gut that she dated was one of my best friends Simon, and that is how we met and started dating.

So what went down was that this guy Simon and her had been dating for about 1 month and all that he did was try to push sex on her all the ****ing time that was all that he would do. Well one night Susan was drunk and Simon ended up rapeing her, well she really did not tell any one and about a week later she called me out of the blue and was like can we go to a movie and just chill? I sad yes, we hung out and she told me what went down and I could not believe that he did that so I called him and just asked him If he had had sex with her or not and he got all happy and sad "Hell ya, I got her drunk and ****ed the shit out of her".

Well after that little talk I wanted to kill him. NO I really wanted to kill him, my sister went thru something that was like the same damn thing and now were I live there is still a guy walking around that is all ****ed up.

Well now to the real stuff. Susan told me not to get mad and don’t go kill him she sad that it would not help the way that she felt. So any way about a week ago Susan started acting a little crazy, she just would not talk to me and just did not want to see me at all. Well thanksgiving came around and her Mom and Dad invited me over so when I went over there she needed to go get some stuff for her mom from the store and she told me to come so that she could talk to me, well this is what went down she sad that she has 2 much shit going on right now and that she cant be with me right now and that she just wants a break.

Well what do you say to some one after you are told that? her Best friend had just ditched her and the hole rape thing and she told me that she just fells that she is bringing me down, (which is true) but I did not have a problem with that I liked trying to help her with her probs and just being there for her when ever she got sad. This is what I told her and she was like well let me think about it. Well later that night we got to talk again and she sad that she dose not want a break and that she dose not want to lose me and so what ever she has to do to keep me that is what she will do.

Wow now that is a damn hard thing to be told. So I was like well just think about what you want and need to help you work out all of your shit and thin call me and we can talk about it. Well that night I got a call from her I asked her what she wanted to do and she sad that she still did not know, Well I don’t want to be the guy that is a ass and keeps her form getting her shit all worked out and so I sad to her well I think that breaks are shit you either want to be with some one or you don’t. And so I told her Susan I want to do what ever is best for you so I think that we should break up, well after that she asked is that what you really want? I sad "No you know that that is not what I want but from all that you have sad that is what you need to help you get your shit all worked out. She asks so are we done? I say "no, if after you work out your probs and you want to get back with me that am cool with that. She asks if I will still hang out with her all the time and I say no it would just be 2 hard for me and we end it at that.

What should I do? Did I do the right thing? Is she just trying to break it off and let me down nice and slow? Or should I just go along with this break?

I think she is just trying to let me down slow.

To be seious and don't get me wrong cause she does have a lot of stuff to work out maybe it's because she's worried the same thing will happen again maybe she isn't , maybe she does want to call it off and cool it down regardless of what she may feel I think she should speak to the police or some kind of specialist. The same thing happened to my cousion so i told her mum called the police and got the guy thrown in a cell for a few years no point getting even with scum like that just let the law deal with him! Especially if he's bragging because thre law still see's getting someone purposly drnk and forcing sex on them as rape! You gonna have to forget what you feel and help her through it may work out it may not but some circumstancies vary and her's is not the usual i don't love you for no reason anymore stuff her's is a serious situation which needs to be addressed. Don't just cut her off just chill with what she's saying! thats all I can really suggest!

She's been truamatized and it sounds like you are protecting your pride. I suggest you be there for her if you love her. This is tough stuff she is going through.
