He said I love you by accident...
This morning my boyfriend and I were talking and he blurted out "I love you." Immediately after he said it, he was like "That's not what I was going to say. I don't know where that came from." and proceeded to comment about it being awkward, etc. I didn't say anything at first but then asked if he did, to which he sort of ignored the question. I do love him back and would have told him today had he just said he loved me and left it at that. But when he went on about not meaning to say it, I wasn't sure if it would make things more awkward for him or less. At the time I went with more awkward, so didn't, figuring if he was ready for it it wouldn't have mattered that he just blurted it out. Should I have said something? Should I say something the next time I see him? Or do I wait for him to bring it up again? I think part of why I didn't was also due to the fact that I would prefer for him to say it and leave it at that, and not afterwards say that's not what I meant to say.
