Need an answer

So in a little more then an hour I am supposed to meet up with this girl that I met back a few months ago. We are friends but, of course, I like her.
She recently texted me telling me that after work she has to walk home from downtown (30 min walk).
Part of me thinks this is her way of trying to get me to ask her if she wants a ride

So I text back asking why he doesn't have a ride home and she responds with something about her sister being mean.

I'm just a friend to her and I don't want to seem like I'm trying to impress her by offering to pick her up. So I want her to ask. What's going on here and way should I do? Lol
I need to figure this out in 45 mins!!
