I know I've done this once or twice and I regret it. Sometimes though it just seems more comforting to have someone than not to have anyone at all. I know that still doesn't justify it at all, but I still did it. Anyone else have this type of experience?

For years I was so afraid of just being in my own skin so i would be with others just because they wanted me. I'm now just with me living and breathing scared and yet proud. I cant share me until I know who I am.
Because it fills the empty holes in us left by damage to long ago to remember why they exist.

I'm actually surprised that the voting is as close as it is... I honestly would have thought that more people would have stayed with someone so they wouldn't be lonely. Fear of being alone is a pretty big motivator for a lot of people... *raises his hand* I stayed with someone for years, eventually getting married... although there certainly was a point where we were in love, our differences were too great, and at that point... we shouldn't have stayed together, but I think that a fear of waking up alone kept me (and maybe even her) in the relationship... eventually it collapsed, but not after a good number of years that could have been spent happier...
Everyone gets lonely at times, I think, but it is worse to be lonely when IN a relationship than to be lonely without one.
No. I am very good on my own so I don't get lonely. Plus, I have friends.
