My ex and I have been broken up for a year and 3 months...we were together for almost 5 years...we are both currently in new relationships, but i have been thinking about my ex a lot...i was wonderning how difficult it would be if we ever got back together considering that we have both been with someone else...i have to admit that i was jealous over certian things back when we were together...how do you deal with getting back with someone after they have been with someone else?
In most cases, they were with someone before you anyways.
Besides getting back together as you were is a fail from the word go, it's a new relationship, treat it as such.
I will have to remember that if we ever get back together when i have my jealous moments...
Understand that you are with someone else as well, so he could be experiencing the same type of jealousy you mention. The best way to deal with it is to be in a relationship where you feel confident, loved, and are honest and communicate well. Jealousy often is about your own insecurities, so I would suggest to figure out exactly why you are jealous first and fix those things you are insecure about first.

How do you know he would accept you after YOU have been with someone else also? I would think a man would have a harder time dealing with the fact that his current woman has been with other men during their time apart.

Geesh. You do have jealousy issues if you are fretting over 'what if he breaks up with his current gf, and we get back together, but I can't deal with he dated someone else'
First what you are thinking is a BIG IF. You just aren't happy in your current relationship, and it is natural to think back onto other relationships you have had when this happens.
Breakup with the guy you are with and find someone you are happy with. And that is NOT your old boyfriend. He has moved on. Leave him be.
