Why do i fall in love with unreachable girls?

Hey guys... and gals!
It's my first post on those forums so let me introduce myself for a bit.
I'm 17, and everytime i fell in love ( 3times now) there were only "unreachable" girls.
I know you can't figure out what "unreachable" actually means so i will try to explain myself.
On a scale from 1 to 10 ( atractivity-wise ) i find myself being as a 3, maybe 4. The girls that i fell in love with (no, not like " Damn man, that chick is HAWT!" but the actual love feeling) were like 7-8-9. I never managed to get one of the girls i liked to date me(which is pretty obvious beacause they don't find me atractive whatsoever) so therefore i never had a girlfriend.
Also, the girls that liked me were just... damn... horrible to be honest. It's normal for a "3" girl to look at a guy that is as well on the third place on my scale and for a 8 girl to look at a guy who gets the eight postion on my scale, but looks like i'm an exception.
Do you have any answers on something similar?

I was like you at age 17. Try to talk to girls more instead of just admiring them from a distance. Once you get comfortable talking to women, you may start to notice that personality can make a difference, that an average girl with a nice personality will seem prettier, because she smiles more and treats you nicely. And a pretty girl who treats you poorly can start to look worse.

Your own looks do not influence who you like. It only influences who you might settle for.

It's pure psychology. We don't want something that we can get easy. If humans work hard for something, then we enjoy that thing more. If we get something easily, then we will not appreciate it so much in life. That happens to all people. It is normal and it only has to do a lot with your self worth

yep pure psychology, n u should start to think n behave like 8 guys so u can get 8 girls. remember the mind game we are exactly the one we think of, if you think n behave like 8 so every body will believe
that u are 8 people so 8 girls are surely be yours

You need to find girls who will treat you nicely, no matter how they look. :) That's all that matters.

The fact that you're bringing yourself down has a lot to do with it.

Girls go for confidence more than looks. I'm not talking about 'acting' confident, but
'being' confident.
This only comes from working on yourself.
