I Have Intimacy Issues

First a bit about myself. I am currently 25 years old (birthday is April 14th), I am a guy, I live in the US, and I am still a virgin. The reason for my virginity is not that I cannot get any, but because I was never circumcised when I was born. I've always kept this as a personal secret and have never really considered intimacy to be an option until having it done. I actually consider myself to be good looking (I tried to provide an image and a link but these forums won't let me because I'm new), and I have had opportunities. In high school, a girl I liked actually went so far as to tell me her fantasy of being tied down over the phone and offered me a lap dance the subsequent day. As much as I wanted to, I pretended not to and turned her down on account of my concern with being uncircumcised. She promptly told me to leave.


Unfortunately, I am 25 years old now and it is beginning to dawn on me that to be at this age and still a virgin is likely not a good thing. At the risk of sounding conceited, I have never really had any trouble getting a date with a girl when I wanted one and sometimes take them out hiking or to dinner or whatever just to prove to myself that I can. However, I have never had any kind of relationship on account of my hesitance for intimacy at this point.

I have recently completed a Master's in chem at Penn State and am currently job searching. As it stands I plan to 1) procure a job, 2) obtain an adult circumcision, and 3) pursue a real relationship. However, I am beginning to wonder if I should consider an escort to make up for my lack of experience. I know there are risks involved, but I don't feel like I am supposed to still be a virgin at this age.

Your thoughts?

Maybe it's just me, and I'm not getting it, but what's the whole thing about the circumcision holding you back? There are LOTS of men who are not circumcised, who are getting ass all over the place. Why let that stand in your way?

Don't do escort. Just, DON'T. It's sad, it's cold, it's just.......no. How I know this, is because a friend of mine was so obsessed over being a virgin at 24 that he went and slept with a hired young woman, and that didn't help his self esteem at all. So no. DON'T. Get a hook up or something. Since you're capable of getting girls, that shouldn't be too hard.

There's nothing wrong with being a virgin at 25. But really, being circumcised is not necessary. It's more common than you think, and I don't think it's a problem for most women.

What makes you think an uncircumcised penis is a deal-breaker with women? You have not had sex yet because you are letting your self-consciousnesses about something so miniscule control your life. You are good looking, have goals, have no problems with getting dates, yet you want to lose your virginity to an escort? Thats pathetic and ruining what could be a really memorable milestone in your life. Choose a girl, have a great date, and take her to your place for a passionate night. If she isn't some paris hilton prissy bitch then she wont even think twice about your extra skin, some women even prefer it.
Also there is no need for escorts to be used as practice, thats what controlling yourself during masturbation (or continuously holding and letting go of your pee) is for. If your worried you'd blow your load because of the feel of a women then get a fleshlight to practice with, MUCH cheaper then an escort and you can use her over and over ;)

Seriously stop being so self-consciousness about being uncircumcised. It might calm you to know that circumcision rates in western US are well below 25%.

You're getting hung up about nothing at all. Lots of us are incircumcised and we're getting plenty. If you're still a virgin at 25 then this issue is going to get more and more difficult to deal with. Have you considered counselling of some kind?

Go to any top 20 school and seek out the physics, math, and CS students. Probably half (including grad students) are virgins

Actually circumcision rates declined according to CDC data from 56% in 2006 to 32.5% in 2009. Meaning non-circumcision has become the norm among newborn boys in the United States. Though I've also heard that 70% of the current US population has already been snipped.. I don't know! I guess it depends highly on religion and culture. We look back on China and think "why with the foot binding?!" yet it was what was normal and accepted at the time. Same with circumcision (accept being snipped offers health benefits where foot-binding offered nearly nothing positive.)

Getting circumcised:
helps prevent women from contracting HPV
protects against cancer of the penis
protects slightly against AIDS and HIV
Traps less gunk so it smells less
looks damn fine
Prevents Balanitis
And helps prevent UTI's in babies!

Just go for it, man. Like everybody said, not being circumsized is much more common than you think. I'm 25 and live in the US as well, and I have several guy friends that have mentioned in passing that they were not cicumsized. I've also had ex girlfriends that have mentioned being with guys that weren't circumsized and said that it made no difference. The only negative thing I've ever heard was from one of my ex girlfriends that said she wouldn't give her ex boyfriend a blowjob because of that reason.

It's nothing to be ashamed of. We're practically the only country that does it.
