Is he over his ex?

I have been seeing this guy for 3 months! We have not really been dating but having fun and we end up going out together a lot. I have seen him every weekend for 3 months and the occasional week night. He has been split up from his ex for 16 months and they were together for 6 years. They broke up because of distance. One time I was out with him and she called and he immediately ignored it. ( he doesn't know I know her name but it is obvious from Facebook). I then saw that hima nd her call each other or text each other every day. When we go out he says he really really likes me and we laugh and have so much banter. I really like this guy now but it makes me so nervous that he still txts his ex etc. I am with him all weekend! I don't want to get hurt badly. Is he over her? Should I bring it up in conversation? Is he never going to be over her? Help me please!?

First of all, this relationship is still young being that it's been only 3 months. Bringing it up this soon might be premature. So give it more time for the relationship to develop. And once it has become a serious committed relationship with the prospect of a permanent future together, then that's when you have the right to request he cut his ex out completely.

I wish i could tell you it will go away .. I have been in your shoes and I kept telling myself he will stop once the relationship develops.. 2 years later?? Found out messages in which he was telling his ex how much he regrets she is not in his life anymore!! It's pointless to tell you how i felt ! The more you let yourself falling in love with someone who's still in touch with his ex.. the harder will be later on. Is it worth taking the risk? If he is going to become number 1 in your life, would you be ok being number 2 in his?

Thank u for your advice. I kind of built up Dutch courage and just asked him about it. He said he speaks to her occasionally and they are friends. The one time I saw her number come up on the screen and he ignore it, he said was because she was in town and he didn't want to see her. I was with him all day so I guess that is true. I suppose I will have to wait and see what happens.

If I suspect it is more I will walk away, I defiantly don wanna be hurt again! Xx
