why does it take forever for men to realize what they have?

1. my 2nd boyfriend from 11 years ago is still madly in love with me. BUT i have no feelings for him other than friend and he knows this. we broke up cause his mom said we where getting too serious

2. my 3 year old daughters father-apologized today for hurting me(broke up while i was preggy with our daughter). said he still likes me too still has feelings..

3. my current guy-the one who just wants to be friends-loves me still and doesnt want me to move on, im supposed to wait.


well why couldnt they see what they had before we broke up? I love my current guy despite all this and he knows this.

I can't answer for them but with the first one maybe he was just too young to realise what he had back then.
I don't know about others but I never go back to my ex. I try not take anything for granted. So while I'm with them I do the best I can to keep the relationship strong. Maybe that's why I don't regret when the break ups happened because I know I did the best I could. It just wasn't meant to be.
So maybe they regret that they didn't do the best they could when they had you.

i just find it funny. i love my current guy to pieces but i told him i dont think i can wait forever for him.

I don't know... why does it take women forever to realize the relationship they're in is horrible, will never get better and will only end in sorrow? How come they'll waste half their lives on a hopeless relationship before they'll come to their senses?*

So which is the one you had to scare all the other women away from?

my current. all his female friends used to hang all over him. its not that im insecure i just like to make things crystal clear when i enter a relationship. 1. i dont tolerate other females hanging all over the man im with 2. getting texts from other females late at night is a big no no thats my time with you 3. you dont see my male friends putting their paws on me so your female friends dont need to put theirs on you. 4. you respect me i will respect you 5. your friends respect my rules for my house i will let them in the door they dont they are not welcomed here.

im very clear about what i want i dont hide anything from any potential guy. I tell them what i want, what i expect and what i will and will not tolerate.

This one^? If he wants to be 'just friends' then no wonder you are having problems with other women. This sounds like his MO. He 'collects' women friends. Wait for what, exactly? Sounds like you could be chasing a butterfly w/this guy.

Of course, it sounds like you also have some issues in this regard. You seem to need these guys to 'still love you', somehow. Ego kick? Craving attention? Its probably the same reason your current BF/friend keeps his female friends hanging.

i dont need them to keep loving me. he said he loves me but is unhappy with where he is currently in life.
