Confusing males!

Background info: I am 33, my guy is 32, he is divorced, I am going through one currently, both have kids.
Ok, so why does my guy say things like" when we get married..." (said on several occasions), and then says he was only joking when I asked him about it later? And of course he says "I love you" while drinking one time and now nothing? He tells me to take it slow and be careful and he is saying stuff like this. It's like two steps forward and one step back and confusing as hell. What is up with all this?

Prolly cause you dont play along... he is likely not sure whether you want the same, at least this is what I'd suggest.

You could ask him - you know like communcation -a thing that adults do.

Yep, Boisdevie has it right. Talk to him. Tell him that you need clear communications. Game playing is for children.

Sounds like you are over-analysing everything he says. Just straight out ask him what he wants from you so you know where you stand.
