sinning against the guyble?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about two years, but for the past six months he had transferred to a different school putting myself in New York and him in California; Unfortunately, since he has been home I have not enjoyed being in his company at all, I do not believe it is an exactly mutual situation, however.

But That isn't the problem.

So here's my question: Can I ditch the guy and keep his friends?
His male friends and I have grown so close to one another that it'd be a much harder blow to lose them in my life than just him alone. I feel somewhat horrible saying that, but why should my relations with one person deny my relations with another?
Is there really some "guy code" that they must adhere to that makes our breakup apply to him as well?

I don't believe in the guyble. I dated a girl for a while and also moved away. We broke up and my sister would still hang out with her. It didn't bother me because we were over, but my sisters friendship wasn't. I might be weird, but I don't think we should follow all these invisible codes when it comes to dating. It's crap.

I think you would need to worry about what your boyfriend would say. If you say the situation is not mutual he may try to get back at you by saying things about you to his friends. Are you closer to his friends than he is? I know its easy to lose touch with friends when you move.

The least you could do was to realize that you will be breaking this man's heart so you should, at the very least stay away from group functions where he'll be with HIS friends until he's at least somewhat indifferent to his feelings for you. He's going to need the help of his friends keeping him busy and cheering him up and he'll hardly get the benefit of that support with you honing in on his therapy sessions.

You can break up with whomever you want and stay friends with whomever you want.

You could always try, but don't expect all his friends to just not care.

His friends may care. But if he doesn't live there and you have grown closer to them, I think they would still hang out. Conniptionfit is right, and if they dont want to be your friend then screw them. you aren't in high school anymore, are you?

Unfortunately it's not quite that easy. It takes two people to make a relationship (no matter what the dynamic of the relationship is).

The only way I'd say they're really your friends is if you're ugly and they still want to hang out with you, if not, you're just eye candy. Don't you have your own friends, anyway?

What? A pretty girl cannot have male friends? I have lots of male friends and im a pretty girl. Unless you are super naive, then it is obvious who wants to f*ck you and who is actually a friend. Im not saying those friends wouldnt have a go if they had a chance, but an attractive girl can still have friends.
I moved to Canada and met my partner. I met all my friends through him. Male and female, we broke up for a while last year and while we werent together i still went out and saw his/my friends. I could tell which ones were only down to see if they could get in my pants and just didnt give them the time of day. I am still friends with all the others and they havnt tried to f*ck me yet, we go out, have fun and just be friends.

To the OP. You can hang out with whoever you want. But maybe back off from his closer friends for a while so he doesnt get hurt even more than what he already will be.
