I have been attracted to some quiet guys before if he is cute. Also, I would start imagining what a silent but deep soul he has.
But then I found out I was wrong when he started talking.
Ha, it was all sounding great until the last sentence!Quote:

My last ex was not much of a talker, and I later learned that he had major problems communicating/opening up to people. I doubt every quiet guy has such issues, but you might want to figure out whether he is just a man of few words, or whether there is some emotional deficiency going on there.
What did he say in particular that change your mind?Quote:

lol... so the idea that people have different personas phases you?
Regardless of what pop culture says, not everybody is loud and chirpy.
Must have given you the wrong impression. Not at all. Just want to learn more from this perspective.Quote:

Yeah I have. I was with him for 5 long years. He would be happy just hanging out, watching TV, movies, playing games, computer games etc. Not one to sit down and chat through a whole movie.
He may have been strong and silent but he was also boring.
You stay with him for such a long time. Why? Was he always boring or was it only towards the end of the relationship?Quote:

I hate talking during movies.... whats wrong with watching a hole movie without talking?
some people are just quiet and shy. Thats just who they are.
I thought he was a really sweet person with basically good values. He was smart, with a great job, had a heart for rescue animals, and could be rather affectionate without saying much. He was also a great lover... I just didn't realize until much later that he didn't talk much not because he didn't want to open up to me, but because it was so difficult for him. Then I realized why we sat in front of the TV so much, and why he was awkward and talked about mostly superficial things on the rare occasions we went out on dates alone. I had always thought I was failing to inspire deep conversations with him, and I kept waiting for that to change... apparently it was never going to, because he's just not the kind of person who opens up on that level. It's really sad, actually.Quote:

He was always boring. I stayed because I loved him. He was my first bf I thought a good, nice, sweet guy was as good as it got.Quote:

You sound like my ex. I enjoy watching movies without talking but it's really great when I don't care too much about the movie in question and I can sit there with my partner talking and talking and enjoying it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with quiet men. To me, they're just boring as shit.Quote:
