I read books about programming too, but I'm usually also in front of a computer when I do it. So is your laptop involved when you're dumping, too?

Honestly i never understood how someone can read in there, i usually get in get out i have no time to waste.

This. Newspapers suck (and I was a journalism major). Give me a good episode of The Big Bang Theory, and I'll be in there for 20 minutes.

No, I just read the book while dumping, but I don't program in the meanwhile. When I do the actual programming, I might look up something on the book but not read it cover to cover :)

Reading isn't a waste of time (well, newspapers are). Especially since you can't do a lot of other things while dumping.

WiFi rules. I haul the laptop with me everywhere. Out to the porch to smoke... laptop. In the bathtub to wash... laptop. In the kitchen to wash dishes/cook - laptop. I freakin' love it.
