long time crush (7 years)

So i am 18 years old and currently finished High school. I have only a few friends now that School is over and the course i am in only has 20 or so people in it, the majority beeing guys (being an IT class). Out of the few friends i have one is this girl that i have liked on and off since junior high (roughly 7 years). We both liked each other about 5 years ago but did nothing about it, being only 13 and being extremely shy i had no idea how to approach this siuation. So you know what i did? i become even more shy and stoped talking to her for a whole year! during this year im sure she liked me just as much as before, and so did i, but in my mind i was scared of a relationship. after a year i slowly started talking to her again by befriending her brother who is 2 years younger. we became friends again but i think all hopes of a relationship went out the window during that year of silence. For the next 3 years she started becoming sexually active and had 3 or 4 boyfriends(lets just say it wasnt all smooth sailing). During this time it never seemed like anything would happen between us but i stayed friends with her because i get along with her like no other person.
I will bring you up to speed... she currently is going out with her boyfriend of 1 year on and off. She constantly complains about him and how he pisses her off all the time. i have met him many times and i still dont know why she is going out with this total dick. Her friends also agree with me and they dont know why she likes him. I think about her all the time and think what could have been and get angry that i missed my chance.
I really think i need to get over this girl because she is mentally stooping me from meeting other girls.

Do you think its time i let her go? I really want her so bad she is everything i want in a girl!. No other girl treats me so kindly and cares what i have to say. Help!

If you let her go you are able to date other girls and you might meet someone different but just as awesome. But if you do, will you be ok never knowing what would have happened with this girl?

If you decide to wait.. You're just gonna keep torturing yourself. And think about it.. What if someone else likes her too and acts on it when she's having a really bad moment with her boyfriend? She might end up being with someone else and you would beat yourself up even harder.

So I say go for it. Tell her how you feel and hope for the best. And even if you end up being rejected.. then at least you'll know it wasn't gonna happen with her. I think having that kind of peace of mind is worth getting hurt. It's gonna bother you a lot longer if you don't act on it.

telling her how id feel would be not to wise i imagine. considering she is going out with someone.

I would agree with Ramona if the girl were single ... but she's not.

She may be in a bad relationship, but it's not your place to offer yourself as an option. If and when she breaks up with her boyfriend, tell hger how you feel. Until then, stay out of her relationship.
