Common Problem?

I believe this is a common problem but then again I don't hear of it very often. But here it goes:

Long story short, the girl I have been dating says she wants a year long break (give or take). She just didn't want to have 1 serious relationship throughout her life and regret it later on. She says that she would have no problem at all getting back together after the break either, if that makes a difference?

So as of now we are apart but still friends. My question is, what do I do now?

She says we should try and date other people so we don't get the jitters or regrets later on but I just don't see myself doing that (dating another person or getting the 'jitters').

Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.
