Advice plz

Well unfortunately for me i go to skool in New Zealand. This is a place where most of the secondary skools are single sex. This pretty much means that other than the occasional dance (1 or 2 times a year) i dont really meet too many girls. Now if i walked up to you on the street and started talking to you im sure u would probably be like "........." and im a bit like :horror: at thinking of doing so. Therefore what would be the best way to meet a girl and how wud u react if sum1 started talking to u on the street or in a bus.
