Please use poop bags. No one else wants to step around (or in) your dog's poop, no matter how cute they are.
ha ha, of course :) my area doesn't even have walk areas periods, only roads :)
you'll need a collar and a fenced in yard so they don't go off.
they need a round of immunization every month for four months. parvo and distemper. you can take it to a shot clinic. they do it cheap and safe.
you'll need canned puppy food because they probably won't be able to handle straight dry food right away.
dogs are a huge responsibility. you have to spend a lot of time with them and give them a lot of awards and attention to pay for the moments you have to discipline them or potty train them. .
i forgot, puppy treats. i use pupperoni. treats are the key to training.
I would suggest a puppy school for training and have everyone that's going to be looking after the pup go to classes. Nothing worse than going to a heap of effort to train a dog just to have someone else undo all your hard work.
I'm not quite sure how things are over there but...
Clicker training is great (if you search online for dog clicker training you will find info about it)
Socialise as much as possible- with other dogs, people (particularly children and men), sights and sounds, busy roads, trains etc.
Feed a good quality food, cheaper, lesser quality are usually full of additives that can make dogs hyper and of course is not good for them.
Dont set him up to fail- so dont leave things around that you dont want chewing/ripped etc- he's a puppy so wont know the difference bewteen correct things to chew and bad things.
When you leave him(her?), i really recommend a "Kong" they are indestructable to most dogs and they are hollow so you can fill with treats (i mix cheese and kibble and stuff it in mine) really good to encourage pup to chew that and will keep him occupied aswell as teaching him that you leaving is not a bad thing as he gets something nice.

Don't leave a puppy outside by himself when the sun starts to go down, or it will be eaten by a coyote or an owl.
