is there still such a thing? has it ever existed?
"Love is the glue that holds together human society and without it our lives have little meaning or purpose."
Then how do many live without it?
If you are speaking of unconditional love, I don't believe it exists except between a parent and child.
that's what I what I was thinking as well. mature people who give themselves unconditionally are not stable individuals IMO.
"Genuine love for another person simply means the continual desire and the act of increasing the level of happiness in another person’s life."

Simply...when you have it,you are living...and when dont, you are looking for it and that gives a meaning to your lifeQuote:

Would you be willing to die for someone else? Death is a condition. The love of parent for a child is the only relationship I can think of that would pass this test.
i don't see too many people claim that they unconditionally love their mates anymore. all relationships come with expectations and requirements nowadays.Quote:

Love is always unconditional... it is the relationship itself that has the conditions.
I don't know... I think it exists. In fact, I know it does. I will always love my wife no matter what.
There are certain things she could do that would make me no longer want to be with her, but I would still love her, and miss her.
^^^ which is exactly what I mean by love is always unconditional, it is the relationship itself that has the conditions.
Don't bother dissecting romanticized one-liners that sound good but don't mean jack.
Thank you Lipp.Quote:

This sounds like an undergrad paper topic. I could easily argue that Love is conditional. Or unconditional. Or doesn't exist.
Next.
Dibs on the whole "Love at first sight" contradiction.
