Women - Help me decipher this, please
Hey everyone,
I posted back at the end of last year, and you all were very helpful, so I wanted to posit another question.
A little before Thanksgiving, I asked this cool, interesting woman I met at a work function (she's at a different company, but we work in related fields) if she wanted to grab a cup of coffee in the upcoming week. She said she'd love to, but she would be traveling all throughout the holidays, and couldn't do it until a later time. As background, we chatted for about 15 minutes and had a nice conversation. I wasn't going to "fllirt" with her in this particular situation, because it would have been unprofessional and out of line. I have her work contact info, but not her personal cell.
Now my question: Was this a thinly-veiled blow off? I have no problem with rejection, and also don't have a problem asking women out, but I really don't want to bug her if what she was telling me was simply, "Thanks, but no thanks." On one hand, she seemed happy to exchange emails with me and we had a very natural, easy going conversation. On the other hand, I thought it was a little odd for her to essentially say, "I'm busy for the next month. Maybe after that."
What do you all think? Should I strike up some email banter with her and then try for the coffee meeting one more time? Or should I just leave this one alone?
