***one more conflict***

of the two of us in my relationship, ive always been the romantic one. its not that i dont love him, i dont need material possesions to be happy, but for our one year anniversary, he didnt get me anything, while i proceeded to get him several things. i realize that this sounds really conceded, and that presents are all that matter, which is not that case. the only reason im concerned is because, a friend of mine called him on it and he said there was a reason but he wont tell me. there has been a similar issuse like this before, but i didnt aknowlege it. i dont really mind, but im just wondering if this is a significant problem

All that I would be curious about is the "why" only because you've been told there is, in fact, a reason. As for the gifts, sounds like you had an expectation that didn't get met and you're dissppointed. Try not to have such expectations or communicate them more clearly so you both can be on the same page. Expecting men to stand on ceremony often requires a lot of assistance.
