He is an ex co-worker, and i really like him. What should i do??

Should i tell him that i like him? Im afraid he is going to hurt me and tell all his friends. We are not kids anymore but when he is with his friends, he acts like one.
We dont work together anymore, but when he calls he says im beautiful he says he miss me and he cant wait to see me. He asked me when are we going out for dinner and when i am going to be alone so he can come to my house.
But we went to dinner last night with another couple from work, they left us alone and we were talking a lot, but he didnt try anything. On the phone its like he is another man, he tries to seduce me, but in person is so nice like a best friend. He bought me a flower but also bought one for the other girl. I dont know what he wants, sometimes i feel like he is into me and the next five days he doesnt even call.
