Waiting for something pointless?

Okay, so I will make this as short as possible. First off, My name is Duncan and I am 22. I have met this girl I am really into, I've come to like her A Lot. She is significantly younger, she is 18. I have known her for years now. Back when she was in high school I used to deliver these letters to her door step, occasionally with a Blue Rose attached. Within these letters I would write either a poem, or a message explaining how I feel about her. Now keep in mind, this was quite some time ago, so people used to tell me to not reveal myself because she isn't ready. So I waited. She figured out it was me, and yet she hasn't said anything about it. She pretends nothing is going on. She has a sister but she feeds me a lot of lies toward the situation and can't get a straight answer from her. My best friend tells me that she's just hiding her feelings. But my mode of thinking is that, if I can't see it I can't believe it. So my feeling is that she doesn't care at all. I try talking to her, but it goes nowhere, it feels like she doesn't even want to speak with me. It kills me inside, because I have no clue what she thinks of these letters I've been sending, and what she thinks of me. She honestly is the perfect girl for me, and I truly Like her so much. I swore that I would wait for her until she was ready, but it feels like she doesn't even give a shit about me and what I think. It's like she's avoiding me, but at the same time she's trying to be nice about it. I've resorted to pretending not to care as well, but I don't know how that's going to turn out. It's killing me inside real bad. I have no clue what to do, or say. So if anyone out there understands, or can help, just let me know what you think, because I'm not even sure if what I'm waiting for is going to be worth it in the end, or if I'm just wandering down a pointless road.

Are you sure she's not seeing someone already? That might explain her attitude. But if I were you, I would just come out and tell her everything you feel. Don't play games, because in the end nobody wins. And you don't want to just leave it to chance, and hope she comes to you, or says something to you. Trust me the last thing you want in life is regret. Go for it!

We've all been in similar situations Duncan. I agree with Prime39, speak to her and tell her how you feel. Its honestly the best way - ask if she could ever see you being anything more than friends. You may not get the answers you want but at least you will know, and if she says no, hey, its her loss! And you can move on. Its not easy but you WILL meet someone who wants to be with you as much as you want to be with them, and that's what you (and everyone) desrves. Good luck :) x

You're right, she doesn't care. Stop bothering the poor girl.

You leave blue roses and letters proclaiming your love but you don't sign them. That's creepy because she doesn't know who is sending this stuff but she does know that whoever it is knows where she lives. I'd be creeped out for sure. Why don't you tell her it's been you that's been sending this stuff and quit assuming that she knows it's you. Or, be a man and actually ask her out on a date instead of proclaiming your love through the safety of being anonymous.

If she tells you no she doesn't want to go out with you then you can save your rose money and set out to find someone who will care. You're going about this all the wrong way at this point. From now on only send roses (blue or any other colour) to someone who you have already established a relationship with.

Yeah, well Today I found out why she's been blowing me off, and acting the way she does. Friend told me that she's a Lesbian. So yeah, Thanks for the help and criticism, but It's all useless now.

This sort of reminded me of girl I was interested in, when I was 12. We were in the same grade that year. I had a big crush on her. She was already dating a kid I knew in elementary school. I tried everything to get her to like me. But nothing worked. So I even went by her house n' talked with her mother n' sister. That didn't do any good.
