I dont understand this behavior...

I posted a while back. I had an affair that I regret. It ended with him moving out of the country. It has been 3 months. I don't have his phone number and despite having very strong feelings, I managed to get over him. I feel very guilty about what happened and told my spouse. We are working through it.

My question to you is: about two weeks ago, I received an international call. I knew it was him, but couldn't confirm. I was really frustrated he called me. I called him back and he says he is calling me to say goodbye, and good luck in my life...um what?

Then he says to not call him...I'm thinking you called ME! Why did he do this? Why is he calling me 3 months out to tell me he's moved (which I knew) and good luck. Then he says I'm married so don't call. I tell him, you called me, I didn't even have his number, and I'm married too.

What the heck is wrong with him?? Why call 3 months later to tell me this?

I proceeded to tell him the same thing, don't call me, etc. He says ok have a nice life, bye...

I don't get it!

If you had a suspicion it was him you should never have called back. Who knows why he called but seens as though you will never speak to him again it doesn't matter now anyway. Concentrate on getting your marriage back on track and forget about him and the call.

He wanted to initiate contact with you, and you bit. You should have deleted the number and never called back. Bad move. Change your number if you need to.

He's an idiot. You don't need us to tell you that. Delete his number.
