Using internet dating sites while still in a relationship...

I met my boyfriend through an internet site some time ago and it's all been going well. We talk every night and see each other every weekend.

The site I met him on was recommended to me by a friend who is still a member (I've since deleted my profile). Obviously I showed her his profile.

My friend called me the other day quite concerned. Apparently, my boyfriend is still on the site and has started logging on again. He changed his profile the other day to say that he has a busy social life and needs someone to share it with. He's also added some new photographs.

She gave me her log-in details so I could see for myself... which I did.

Obviously this has knocked me for six. How do I approach him about this?

Considering you both were on the same dating site, I think you just approach him by saying that you saw his profile still out there and were confused as to why. I'm not convinced he is looking for another woman per se, as maybe he is just looking for an ego boost. Not to say this is fair to you, but just a thought.

I met my bf on internet site too. We didn't have the 'profile talk' but i removed mine. I have seen that he hasn't taken his down, but it also hasn't been logged in to so i feel chilled out about it. Sometimes people just log on to reply "no thanks" to people - although i think this is silly. However, the fact he has recently edited his profile would worry me. He prob is just looking for ego boost but he shouldn't be. Maybe.u should.tell him he came up on your friends search and you were wondering how come? Xx

It's quite possible there is a misunderstanding on the actual status of your relationship. Why not just ask him if you two are "officially" in a relationship, see what response you get and take it from there.

You say you "met" him. You don't say you've had the exclusive talk nor if you talked about removing your profiles. I think maybe you think he's your boyfriend but he is thinking you're just dating.

Can you explain just how long "some time ago" actually means and why You think that you are bf/gf?

try living with your boyfriend and googling his name and finding him on multiple dating websites and him lying about it....and then admitting it months later....

I dated a man who is hooked on internet dating sites, and can't seem to stop. (Attention whore.) After what I've seen, I am not interested in meeting a man this way. Who needs the constant feelings of insecurity about whether or not you are about to be replaced?

I think if he's still online and looking, he just isn't that serious about you.

Be up-front with this guy and base your response on his reasoning...
