What the... Ummm... Okay?

Welcome to another installment of why Lewis is stupid.

Before I chase you off with another one of my 'love' stories, I would like to state that I would really appreciate any feedback I can get.

In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned a co-worker of mine, I called her M. To make a long story short I will try to readers digest this situation.

M is one of my really great friends, and she is seven and a half years older than me. She is married and I came to my senses and didn't progress any further in the friendship because I knew that I would end up getting hurt badly. The plan worked for a while, but only up until recently. I found myself visiting her and hanging out with her less and less over the past several months, and all was okay and dandy until I stayed up late one night and decided to text her, asking her if she saw the new season premier of It's Always Sunny. Quickly I found myself visiting her quite a bit more frequently. At this time I was currently working at Gamestop, and became really good friends with one of my co-workers, who if I might add found out about my little crush on M very quickly. He would all the time poke fun at me while we were in the store alone, but I brushed it off because I knew he meant no harm. One night as I was heading home from my new job, I saw her car in the parking lot at her work, so I decided that I would go in and see how she was doing. While I was there, several people came up and joined mine and M's conversation. We were on the topic of High school, and who we hung out with. I explained to everyone that I was indeed as much of a nerd then as I am now, then M turns to me and says, "If we went to school together, I would like like you."

It completely sideswiped me, I didn't know what to think. We go about our business and later in the conversation M says, "I keep trying to think of people that you could go out with, but I don't know anyone good enough for you." And, "I never went out with a guy who wasn't a complete nerd, computer scientist, or a physics major." (I am all three.)

I know all of that is circumstancial, and probably means nothing... But my young mind can't help but to wander around.

I told my former co-worker from Gamestop what had happened that night and he asked me what I replied with... Then got a little frustrated with me when I told him I didn't say anything (at the time he didn't know M was married). After I told him that she was married, he said that I should try to keep my distance from her because I am going to a dangerous path, and I thanked him for his concern. Several weeks pass, then out of the blue I get a text from M while I am working saying, "You need to turn 21 now!" and, "I can't wait until you are 21 so we can hang out and go drinking together."

I find it harder and harder to keep my distance from M, she means a lot to me. I know how bad this situation is and how much worse it can get, so I am trying to keep my distance from her. The only contact i have with her is when she has a new T.V. show for me to watch, and when I go in to the store to rent a movie. My friend thinks that she is leading me on, and that I am leading her on. He doesnt know what to think, but it is still more than I know... The only thing he can think of is that she is being very neglected in her marriage and is trying to find happiness again... I don't know. I don't want to do anything to harm her or her marriage... So I am keeping my distance.

As my friend says, "You are leading eachother on, playing a dangerous game... the thing is, you have only 1 life and you both are about to lose them."

My first question is: Is she actually showing signs of liking me, or is my mind playing tricks on me?
Second: What do I do if she is showing signs of liking me? (Even though I know I need to stay away)
Third: What do I do about the friendship as it stands now? (I still have deep feelings for her...)
Fourth: Am I just a dumb kid that needs to stop reading so much into the little things?
