Failing moral scales

What is this anomaly in our mind that causes us to push away people the closest to us and give our attention to someone who doesn't really need it? So many friends are dealing with so many issues, people who showed that they deserve my time and attention and somehow I give them very little. This girl who refused my heart with whom we still speak as friends only has to go online and I will spend half a night with her. When she was sick I wrote her every day, then I almost forgot buying flowers for my mothers birthday. Wish I could express how angry I am at myself, yet somewhere in my chest it feels like the right thing to do. Any body know of a good way of putting myself on a right track here?

I know it is probably because I am young (25) and don't see what matters the most, but I do still somewhat understand what does and what doesn't

Focus on the people who matter and stop wasting time on those who dont. You will meet someone special in time

stop wasting time on that girland be there for the people who need you now.

Look at your situation in the same way you would if this girl were a monetary investment, Littlewing: If you're not getting any interest on your initial investment, then why on earth would you keep adding more money to that investment? Ya gotta know when to withdraw your money and put it into something thats going to yield you higher interest and build on the principal amount.

Stop throwing your money into non-profit ventures.

Instead of what you feel.

Best to try and become friends and maybe more with another girl. You are still hung up on the just friends one, I know I have been there, and if you meet someone new you can set new priorities.
