long term relationship and near cheating.

HI, my partner and i have been together nearly 5 years, we have a young child. My partner works long hours, is a wonderful father and supportive partner. Over the last few years we have grown apart which i think is relatively normal, we are not intimate as much as he would like and lately he has been conversing with women on social networking sites. Recently he planned to meet with a woman but i found out and was able to stop him before anything happened. He says he feels unattractive and unloved, he says that these women make him feel attractive and therefore he feels like he did when we first met. Of all the people ive ever known i never thought he would be disloyal. It is so out of character. THis question is for the guys and please only helpful answers. Is it true, does the lack of sex drive him to cheating and although i take some responsibility how do you suggest i begin to trust him again. THanks very much for any of your answers.,

This would be a deal breaker for me. I would have dumped him already. Yes lack of sex does make him feel unloved, unattractive, unwanted. It can lead to depression and cheating. However, he should have talked to you about this ages ago and tried to fix it and then he should have left before trying to get with anyone else if you refused to fix it. What he has done is wrong and its not the answer. It doesnt solve your problems. It has just made them 100 times worse.

How do you know that this wasnt the third or fourth or fifth time when he got caught? What makes you think it was the first? He could have already cheated and there is no way for you to know for sure if he is telling the truth or not.

You are both to blame for the lack of intimacy. You should not have allowed it to get this bad BUT there is no excuse for cheating and I would kick him out if I were you
