That sounds like an email that he probably sends out to all his clients and just changes the names and dates. The man has clearly told you in actions that he does not want to go out with you and wants to keep your interactions with him professional. I suggest that when he goes in for a hug at the end of your training session that you back away... hugging your client is not professional and it is presumptuous of him to be doing that.
Move on and stop over-thinking this situation. If he wants to date you, he has your number and he'll ask you thereby clearly letting you know that he's interested.
Don't look at it as rejection, look at it as an opportunity lost. His lost opportunity, certainly not yours.
He probably has other things going on that is preventing him from dating you. Don't pursue him anymore; he already know you are interested. Just keep it professional.
