Someone please help with this problem

Hi i was wondering if you could help with this problem please:

I have a girl who i have gotten really close to recently but as it stands we are like best mates. I think i am in love with her because i think about her constantly, i have the feeling im my belly, i compare her to other women i see and nobody is as good as her etc.

I want to go out with her but i dont know if she just sees me as a friend. I dont want to say anyhing to her incase it puts her off. She has never had a boyfriend before and we are both 17. I have very little experience on asking girls out and i am worried that if i said anything because i dont know if she feels the same way and i dont want to push her away.

We have a good time together but i would like to be extra special to her.

People have asked her out before and she has said no because she "doesnt want a boyfriend at the moment" Is this an excuse because she is waiting for someone or does she honestly not want a boyfriend.

I have spoken to her about it a little and she seems to honestly not want a boyfriend. I would enjoy the closeness of having someone there for me and i would like to be there for them but she says she doesnt really want this at the moment. As far as i know she doesnt know i like her in this way and i dont want to ruin our friendship by saying something stupid.

What would you recommend?

When you guys hang out is it usually in a crowd of people or just you 2 alone? If it's with a bunch of friends I'd try to see about doing more stuff alone, with just the two of you and see how it goes... like just ask her to go get a bite to eat or go to a movie or whatever you kids do these days.

Just don't make it into a big deal and it won't weird her out. We can't magically tell you if she wants a boyfriend or not, but if she says she doesn't, she probably doesn't... but that can all change with meeting the right person, so get her alone and take things from there.

At the moment we are in a group at school that all hang around and when we are in that group we arent as close but then lately we have been getting alone more and more and i really like it because its more like i can focus on her and not worry about what everyone else is doing in the group.

She has this thing where she likes ducks because when she went to France she fed the ducks there and she thought they were really cute etc. so yesterday we went to the park and fed ducks and geese and stuff and we got on really well (although we always get on well) but we had a really good time and i felt really close to her, like closer than anyone else i know.

Then she came back to my house and we chatted and watched tele and stuff and it was all cool. But i still dont know if she only sees me as a friend, in which case as you say i will just have to hang in there and hope i grow on her!

I wanna make sure that i am always there for her so that she can talk to me about anything and she trusts me so that she knows that i really care about her.

Its hard...wish i was a mind reader...would be a lot easier!

Yeah LoL so many times I've wished I could see what's goin on in a girls head... but I would just say things are going really good with you.. just keep it up - keep on hanging out with her and keep building upon your good relationship and go with the fow... see where it ends up.

Try to get her in more alone/intimate settings.. the park idea with the ducks was a good one. ;)
