Controlling or overreacting?

I have been seeing this guy for approximately six months or just under. He started out as very caring and kind but it got worse and worse and I don't know if I am in the wrong or he is.

I am a very independent female, I don't need anyone to buy me things or stuff like that. I can look after and support myself. I am 21.

This guy is without a doubt very insecure but I no longer have any friends, except for one female. I used to have stacks but in order to avoid the argument or guilt that would come with wanting to just go hang out every now and then I ceased it so keep the peace.

He wants to know where I am every second of everyday if we are not together, if I go to the local shops he must know about it and if I change to another shopping centre - I must be cheating.

If someone likes me Facebook status, he knows about it & assumes they are with me.

If I don't answer my phone he will keep calling. He also has quite a temper when things don't go his way, a little bit like a child throwing a tantrum over not getting the latest toy in the shops.

Now, most of you might say just leave him. It's a little more complex. No we are not married, nor am I pregnant (thank god).

We do live together as his family situation was not working out so he came to live with my family and signed a lease with him on it but thank fully we have our own rooms which allows me some solace.

I am afraid to text around him as I know he is looking, not that I am doing anything wrong but just for the pure invasion of privacy fact. He has openly admitted to it but does not deem it as an issue.

I know we are not affectionate anymore, but that is purely by the fact that with all his possessiveness I just can't bring myself to be that way with his behaviour.

I told him to seek some professional help and if he improves then that should come back due to freedom. He swears black & blue that he should know where I am at all times and who I am with.

I am so confused, I don't know if I am in the wrong or I am just being plain stupid.

He asks me for sex, how can you have sex with someone who refuses to trust you when you have not cheated or lied?

He told me that if I start to be more affectionate then he won't be controlling because he's worried I am not interested anymore.

Controlling, manipulating, = abuse. You are being stupid staying in this relationship. Everything that comes out of his mouth is complete garbage. He is a piece of crap, dump his ass.....you cannot fix him, he is very broken.
