Videogames?

Ok my sister and her husband have been married for about 3 years and I can clearly see how his constant videogame playing is hurting thier relationship. They cause many fight. I also notice how anytime they get in a fight he goes to his games and she goes into thier room all mad. He doesn't even try to fix it he just zones in his game and tries to forget anything ever happened. Seeing this after having lived witht hem for a few months has really made me not want to play them anymore lol.

Does this happen a lot in other people relationships? Anyone have this happen and have any success in stopping or dealing with it?

If I understand you correctly, you are living with them and play the games with your brother-in-law? All I can say is that if this is hurting your sister, I wouldn't participate if I were you. Blood is thicker than videogames.

Then again, I really love my sisters, and wouldn't hurt them for anything. Especially not a game.

I no longer live with them and no I never played any box with him lol. I stayed in the room I was renting from them because I was mainly a PC gamer. I talked to him a few tiems about it but what do I know I don't have a GF, was the only reply I ever got.

some ppl no matter how old they are , they NEVER leave videogames , well , would your sister prefer if her husband would go out with his buddies to god knows where , or to some bar when he gets mad...so playing video games when someone is angry is not THAT bad , al least hes home and he doesnt waste his money and hid wife knows what hes doing, its not like hes going to a stripclub(you d be surprised how many married guys go to stripers when thyer pissed at their wife )

Sad to say he is wasting a lot of money on these video games. Why would anyone need 4 accounts for halo 2. Why does he keep stealing her credit cards to activte new ones for the "free month" and never remember to cancel them. Just last month he did that but grabbed the wrong card and overdrew her checking account.

It pisses me off a lot when I could her her crying in her room and hear him and one of his friends hooting and hollaring at Halo 2. I for one would rather he did go out to a bar. At least she wouldn't have to hear it.

She just had a major sugery and rather than care for her he played games 24/7.

IMO he needs to grow up or she needs to get it in her head that he wont change and divorce him.

oddly enough OV isn't the only one who doesn't play halo2. i don't have any games on my computer. my computer is strictly for pornography, everything else is just a waste of space.

secondly, tsk tsk tsk is basically all that i can say. if this couple isn't willing to work out their differences, rather than just putting them off and hope that things will get better in the morning, then it's a waste of both their time and efforts.

Ok, I'm a video game junkie/addict/nerd but this is just stupid ridiculous. (I dunno how anyone could be so into Halo 2 but that's another topic entirely) Although I play games constantly in my free time I know how to stop and commit to social interaction. If games are ALL he's capable of then he shouldn't be with anyone, he's stuck in a phase. Honestly, if it's that bad there may be 2 alternatives you can take. You can put together an intervention, I personally never have but a lot of times they can be really effective. But he sounds like a douche so I dunno if that'd reach him. Instead you could try my preferred method. Take a crowbar or a baseball bat over to his place and when he answers say you're here for your sister. Proceed to walk in and wail the **** out of his XBox and destroy the thing. >.<

In all honesty though, something's gotta be done, this gooch is an insult to truly elite gamers.
