Why the hell did she block me??

So i've been together with this girl that i met last summer and because of my studies abroad we decided to try out the long distance relationship. We've been together for about 8 months. Everything was going well, we used to have long talks joke alot, talk about random stuff and the spark never went out we talked several times for 8 months. Of course we've had our ups and downs but we just jumped back into the relationship stronger than before. But even with all of this i knew deep down me and her aren't meant to be, we are to different from eachother but we still made it work this long. Until recently i've started feeling uneasy about the relationship and anxious because of this. So after alot of thinking i decided to end the relationship. I've purposedly distanced myself from her to think things through and i felt that she started getting worried. So i called her and told her the truth about how i feel and told her it's for the best to end it. This was a week and a half ago. We haven't contacted eachother since then but i've always thought we kinda ended the relationship on good terms. Since i still have feelings for her i decided to remove her from all social media today NOT block just remove because it's hard to look at her pics and get reminded of her all the time.. I few hours later i notice that she has BLOCKED me on all social media. WHY??? I really don't get it. I would get if we had a bad break up or anything but i can't understand why now.

WEll, you removed her so she's lashing back man. Pretty simple stuff and a common human thing to do. If you were hoping for an amicable break up, why do something so hurtful like removing her from your social media outlets; because that translates into almost a social shunning scenario. Even though as you say, it was just too difficult seeing pictures of her, she doesn't know that's your justification; all she knows is you've publicly removed her for all to see and that just leaves too much room for misinterpretation; so she slapped you back.

If you didn't want to confuse her, you could have told her about the whole, 'it's too difficult seeing pics of you so I removed you' rather than what you did.
It hurt her so she is hurting you back. Your own medicine so to speak. Doesn't make it right but you just publicly shunned her so..... yeah, she struck back
Just call her and explain.

Best way to get over someone is to block and delete them so you're not tempted to creep their stuff and thereby keeping them forefront in the mind. We tell people here everyday to do exactly what she has done to help them get over someone that broke up with them.

She's done both of you a favour now get on with your life without her in it. You'll be fine in time and how well you use that time.

What Wakeup said. The best way to get over someone is to remove them from our lives. She won't get over you as easily if you're there on social media - and you do want her to move on with her life don't you?
