Prom Night!

So my Prom is coming up soon and I have been elected as Prom president, it is a silly title however, it is that way so that both guys and girls can be elected it.

Anyway, there is a girl in my year who is terminally ill, as in the tumour (I believe that is the correct term) is inoperable. And I want to step down from the role of Prom president and give the title to her, (I was honoured to be elected to the role but I feel she deserves the title more than me, she is lovely and very brave despite the fact that she is terminally ill) and whereas I have University look forward to she does not .

My school does allow people to hand their titles to other students in exceptional circumstances, so what can I say and do so I can hand my title over to her and make sure that she has a special Prom night?

What a thoughtful person you are. I'd start by talking with the teacher in charge of the Prom. First find out if they will agree, then discuss the best way to do it

Talk to whomever is in charge of the prom, or the principal and say the same you said here and they will set it up for you, and will want you to stay on as well I would think. Hope you both have a nice evening at prom.
