Should I try to find love again ? or give up?

After my ex left I was angry and sad.I wanted to give up on love.
I composed very dark poetry and it made me feel powerful.

But now I think I am ready to try to find a real love. The problem with her was she was only online
and far away. I have never had a real face to face in person love.

I do notice some women smile at me, and some have even come up to say hello and talk.
I like them they are pretty, and one of them even had money.

I guess the advice I seek is should I just talk to them? I am polite and respond to them.
But one I wanted to tell she was hot and that I wanted to take her out for a burger or something.
Should I ask for their number and ask them to eat or a movie?

Please any advice would be great! Also I am not a player, and how can I tell the women are not just playing
or wanting to play. I want something real, because I am not a man whore. I fear STDs and child support very much!
I have desires for kissing and hot sex but with my one true love... no cheating or playing.

If a woman is friendly and you're interested, then sure - ask her out. But don't tell her she's hot until you've gotten to know her better and are heading towards sexual contact. I'd love for a boyfriend to tell me that I'm not - but not a stranger.

Why give up when you just typed to the forum you are ready to try again to find a real love? Obviously you answered your own question within your thread.

Yes, if someone is approaching you to talk with you, of course you chat back with them, that is how you build a conversation with back and forths and then you can tell if you are getting on if it feels natural or strained when you are talking, if you are getting on together then you can ask for their cell number and text them or call them later to set up a movie or dinner, what ever you'd like later in that week when both are free.

You have to sort of learn to read the situation, I guess. Trust me, it isn't easy. I know.

In other words, you don't necessarily want to make it a habit to ask out every girl who ever talks to you in the slightest. Sometimes they are just being polite/nice, especially if it is at work, or in some other situation where it may make sense to talk to somebody even if you don't know them yet.

But, if you talk a while and it seems like you two connect well, why not give it a try? One thing is for sure.... if you never try, you'll never succeed. You can't win if you don't play, as they say. Just a saying, by the way. I do NOT mean that you should be a "player." Far from it. Just saying that if you don't put in some effort, then you'll never get anywhere.

I would agree with basil. Do not tell a random stranger she is "hot." In fact, if/when asking her out, I wouldn't even suggest saying anything like that. Not even that she's pretty or anything like that. This could be misconstrued as you being the type of guy who is only asking her out because you think she is attractive. Like the kind of guy who just asks our every girl he thinks is "hot."

Unfortunately, you can never really tell if somebody is sincere or just wanting to "play." Not right off the bat, anyway. Trust me, eventually it will become very obvious, and that is when you know it is time to leave them in your dust. But, at first, all you can do is give them a shot. If it doesn't work out, no big deal. Move on and try again. Eventually you'll find the right match. You won't succeed if you can't even bring yourself to try.

....Now if only I could bring myself to follow my own advice. Having a really hard time lately in restoring my faith in humanity enough to give a crap to try. Please don't fall into the same trap. I WILL eventually dig myself out of it, but I can tell you from experience you do not want to go there.
