Do I believe him or not

My boyfriend and I have been dating on and off for 3 years we don't live with each other.
Today I have arrived by myself at his holiday van for a little break . He knows I'm here. While cleaning I found a hidden plastic zip bag with broken viagra tablets and whole ones- condoms and oral erection sachets.
He and I have never used any of these together ever.
I sent him a txt asking to explain himself.
He claims they have been here awhile and he got them for us but has never needed to use them and he was scared to.

I said if this were true they would be hidden and the would be at his house not here at the van which I visit only 4 times a year.
