I'm in a Unique Situation
I'm a newbie here but wanted to share a story about a crush on a guy that I'm trying to get over.
I know him from a martial arts class I take. This guy has been sending me mixed messages since I met him last year. He's very polite and will go out of his way to start a conversation with me and even show off in front of me. There were other things he did that would make me think he might be interested but then other times he didn't say much to me but I would still notice him look over in my direction multiple times during class. I have never told him of my feelings because I wasn't sure if he felt the same.
Last week I found out he started dating a girl a few months ago. Ironically, since he started dating her, he's been going out of his way to talk to me more. My attraction for him is more physical because he's very good looking. I realized a while ago that he really isn't my type but I was still crushing on him. In fact, if it were anyone else, I would consider them a loser as he's very immature and in his mid-30s and still lives with his parents. I'm a very independent person. But when it comes to infatuation, rational thinking goes out the window.
So while I'm still depressed over this, everytime thoughts of him pop into my head (which is often), I try to think of his flaws as well.
Here's why my situation is unique, perhaps in a good way. I see him a couple of times during the week in karate class. I'm not angry at him as it's not his fault. But in karate class, we physically spar, punch, and kick each other and often times switch sparring partners so when I get to spar him, I have a very good excuse to punch and kick him. :evil: :evil:
Additionally, I'm also using this opportunity to improve on my personal well-being and doing activities that have always been on my bucket list. During this time I really need to work on making myself happy.
