I have some bad news for you. Most of that is not blood. It's the lining of the uterus and fragments other material. The body preps to have a baby, and if the egg goes unfertilized, then the body flushes all the junk out. Hence the cramps; they help the uterus to release the lining, etc.Quote:

I don't really understand what's so gross about blood and uterus bits.. it's perfectly natural. Maybe a bit messy and not the best time to do it, but still.. it's not like it's constantly flowing out either - it's roughly 2 to 4 tablespoons over the course of 4 to 8 days.
