Of course your gonna think the worst because you kinda put yourself out there by letting him know you have feelings for him. But, the question is, does he know its you?

But at least give it a chance, let him know WHO you are so then you won't have this suspense of wondering. Plus, if he isn't into you like that, then you really didn't lose anything but a meaningless crush. You move on.

If he is into you, then look at all the opportunities that can open up for you both. Maybe he is just as shy as you and likes you just as much. Who knows? Point is that you need to find out and you should definately tell him who you are before he starts to get freaked out and thinks he has a stalker.

Just tell him. Come on, please, it can not be that hard specially over the internet. Trust me when I say that it will all be worth it. The sooner you tell him the quicker you stop playing these beat around the bush games and see if you two can get anything going.
