6 years of braces, and oral surgery every now and then to have a few teeth yanked. Not fun...but I've got a straight bright smile :D.
I've ran into a lot of problems with braces and I'll agree that you must floss, it doesn't matter how often or well you brush, flossing not only removes the food inbetween your teeth but it actually kind of stimulates the gums to keep them from getting sensitive.
That's why when you haven't flossed in a while you may actually bleed or suffer from some pain. So floss everyday at least twice with your brushing and rinsing with mouthwash.
Bad breathe can be just a combination of diet or genetics. You may be more prone to having bad breathe even if you are taking care of your mouth. I'd recommend taking some sugarfree gum with you. I have one of those big-e packs in my car just in case I eat something that may make people gag lol. Yum, garlic!
I'll try and start. I tried before but some of my teeth are so close together I don't see how the floss will go in between.
Don't forget to always brush the tongue as well. That is probably where most of the bad breath is coming from, imo.
Flossing is the key to oral health. Plus, you'd be surprised at how stinky the stuff that comes out betwen your teeth can be.Quote:

omg, you're one of those damn girls that insists on shopping at Whole Foods and other such nonsense-overly-expensive-organic-grocery-stores, aren't you?

nope. i use good ol' baking soda, peroxide, and salt. that's what toothpaste should be. that stuff is in toothpaste along with a bunch of other crap. commercial toothpaste is a sham. good for dentists though!
