u're absolutely right, but honestly this is also one of the reason why i opt not to talk to them first. i have some experiences in my life where i was interested in a guy (s) but they didnt like me back. it sucks. it's much better for me to just sit here in my room and do nothing. i'm not easily attracted to just about any guys. and when i do like them and they dont like me back, it breaks my heart a little, u know? thats why i HATE the feeling when i like someone. it suffers me.

i know this isn't none of my business, but how do you look like that makes you look unattractive, is that an excuse?

No I dont see it good to publish your photo everywhere. Think if one of your students saw it, what will be the situation then? Dear, I am in the same boat with you...so many restrictions because of my PG degrees in addition to the nature of job. I am also always busy in more than 4 part time jobs in addition to my main job. So what time could I offer for a man in my life? Ah , Forgot to tell you I have a kid as well.

You could PM it to the people whose advice you'd like.

As for making yourself more approachable, you have to be willing to SMILE at people, laugh easily, and make brief eye contact. Say hello to strangers and learn to make polite small talk. Learn to notice other people... what they are carrying, reading, their shoes, their demeanor, etc. make for good conversation starters. (These are things you should be doing with males AND females, BTW.)

People are drawn to those who are interested in other people, and the best way to get peple to warm up to you is to focus on making them feel comfortable, just as you would a person visiting your home. If you spend your time thinking about how to get them to open up, it will distract you from your own negative thought processes about yourself. Takes practice, though.
