Oh, for heavy duty concrete drilling or chipping, you definitely need something corded.

I wish I could do cool projects like that, but I rent, so anything we do is minor, and needs to be approved. Your house sounds like quite the project, must be really satisfying.

Our basement was fully finished, but not as we wanted it.

We tore out our entire upper floor a couple years ago & we are really happy w/it now. Solid maple hardwood thruout, stone fireplace, skylights, new deck, picture window. Very open concept now & asian design.

Our basement had been plumbed for tenants, not something we like. So we ripped it all to the studs, redid the entire wiring & plumbing. Got one of those high-eff heating systems w/on-demand, limitless hot water. Useful for a jacuzzi. ;)

We hire ppl for technical stuff like plumbing & electrical, but we are both pretty handy & have a good workshop. So most of the woodwork & gyprock stuff we do ourselves. We enjoy it. My family were/are builders, so it comes pretty easy.

Power tools! woot woot!

Women don't understand why tools are cool.

Needs more Dewalt...



Then again I don't have a hammer drill so I can't talk. Have no need for one.

Is it better to screw something or nail it?

It's funny you mention that.

I've been actively avoiding Dewalt tools.

For one, they are made in China.

Bosch are made in Germany.

Secondly, everybody has DeWalt, so it's easy to get lost in the crowd. I really won't have to write my name on this beast, though I will anyway just in case.

On the other hand, I'm a practical guy, so if DeWalt has a tool that functions better than Bosch, I'll pick it up. They're battery lights for example work better then Bosch's.

Ryobi has a really cool small but powerful 18 volt radio.

I had a dream I set my hammerdrill down and when I came back it was gone.

And then everyone had similar drills as me, but the only thing that made my different was the all metal chuck.

Everybody else had the plastic, metal tipped chucks.

I was very upset when I woke up.

But then I remembered I still have my drill.

And now I'm happy.
