lol, I meant it's a good book for someone who is away from home and nostalgic at times :)Quote:

Catch 22 is my all time favorite book.
That and the "The Children's War" by J.N. Stoyar, it's a "what if" novel, the United States never entered WWII and Hitler never attacked Russia, based in modern day. Good book, long though.
Outside of school I don't really read.
The only notable book that I have read that I really liked was Davinci Code.
Other than that the only other thing I could recommend would be a Playboy.
That's really sad. I hope you learn to appreciate books.Quote:

I can't bring myself to read a book outside school, either. I don't have time nor the interest in sitting down to do it because I am so sick of studying. However, I've been downloading audiobooks to my iPod to listen to when I walk to and from school. If you get a good narrator, it's great. It makes the walk go fast, too. (I walk 50 minutes each way.)Quote:

The Twilight series written by Stephenie Meyer are really really good. I know a fair few guys who have been interested in them :)
I know my daughter and all her friends loved that book, ransom.
I think he might get his ass kicked for reading that in his present circumstances, though. He needs boy books.
Yeah, my daughter told me she thought it was a "girl" book.
I don't read for entertainment alone. We have far better forms of entertainment. First came books because there was nothing else and brought the imagination and thought of entertainment, than came movies that presented that entertainment visually, and now we have the age of games where it is a movie but you star in it basically. Far better forms of entertainment out there. I do read and have read a lot for informational purposes, specially in school.
Bullshit. Those forms of entertainment are just dumbed down and made to appeal to people who either don't have the time to devote to a good book or who are too unimaginative and stupid to appreciate one.Quote:

You can make all the excuses in your head you want but that is the progression of entertainment. Books at one point were the only option. Now it is only one of the options, and it isn't even a good one. Not to mention there seems to be a bad rumor going around for a long time that books can increase someones intelligence. That is only true with books that actually have intelligent things in them.Quote:
