I bet you do, DM. I bet you do.
When's your bday? I think the LF ladies should start a pool to get you an 'exotic massage'. All the touching you can handle.
i'd have a hard time being mean to somebody for doing that though. cause it is accepted in certain cultures. i don't wanna be all "step off bitch!" when they're just trying to be nice...
Bitch better get his hand off the back of your neck, is all...
How come you've always got to respect someone else's culture but they never have to respect yours? I'm sorry, but if a Russian dude wants to give me a big hug and a kiss I have a problem with that. Shouldn't he be obligated to respect my space?Quote:

I don't care if they're trying to be nice, feeling up the back of your neck is beyond just a friendly gesture. It's straight-up creepy.
i think it's also in a certain situation and the presentation of it and how it's intended. i've known american guys who said exactly the same thing, but when they met our crew and hung out with us, they were more than easygoing with the whole atmosphere. I can upload pics from our New Years just to show you how crazy we get.Quote:

A guy that I don't know at the game store put his hand on my shoulder yesterday. A few years ago I might have punched him out. But now I feel more comfortable sharing my personal space with others.
Girls touch me all the time for no apparent reason.
Guys don't normally go running their hand up the back of their friends' necks though Mish. It's not about personal space, it's about how personal you're getting with the invasion of that personal space. There ARE limits.
they do in my culture.Quote:

It was obviously ok for them to touch you because you would have said something if you didn't like it.
Why do you feel so uncomfortable with touching? Perhaps you have other issues...you were molested as a child, afraid of being close to others, etc.

there are definite culture differences between myself and both of those people.
m's family kisses on both cheeks and i don't really do that but if they want to then whatever. they're not trying to french kiss me or anything.
the neck guy often comes up to people and massages their back. it's not just me he does that to. the other guy, well i don't know what he was doing.
it didn't feel bad. it felt, weird. just made me think about it i guess.
to me we're alien. we put so much energy in creating social norms and we neglect our own basic needs to fit into it.
