Since I don't have much time (2months, then I'm gone), I have to make my move fast and I barely get any chance to talk to her. I am thinking just talk to her couple more times then ask her out.

For the 18 year olds, it is something to consider later on. They still in their teens, I doubt I got the same interests. Like I said, I don't act like any people in my age group, that's why I think as long as she will go out with me then I will have a good chance.

You are in your early 20s, best, and you DO act like those in your age cohort. Older folks with more experience know work relationships are slow-motion train wrecks.

Plus, I don't think she's interested. Already said that. But go ahead and try & get shot down, it will be a good learning experience for you.

As for the age thing, I think it completely depends on the two people.

My wife is 27...My "girlfriend" is 19 and a half...and I'm 29yrs old. 10 years between me and the "girlfriend" ? It doesn't seem to be a problem when we're naked 90% of the time, but I know for a fact that we could not carry on in a normal relationship. Way different wave lengths

If you think you don't have much in common with people who are 5 years younger, what do you think she's going to think about a guy who is 13 years younger.

As some have said, the fact that you're losing your appetite over something you barely know is very odd.

Also, if she has been working there for 3 months, like hell she is going to risk her job.

Also, you're going back to uni. Any kind of scenario takes time to develop. You have a crush. Accept that that's all it is.

I just talked to her today before my shift, we talked and laughed about alot of stuff including her marathon. Of course I thought about what you guy said before I even posted on the forum. I highly suspect she won't have any interest, and she could reject me a number of reasons, and age is probably the dominant issue. However, I won't go down without giving it a try, otherwise life isn't worth living if you just give up before you even try. If she rejects, I'll move on and alleviate some pressure for myself too.

The reason I don't like young girls is that they just got out of high school, still act like kids, totally different mentality. I am way more relaxed, gentleman like and slow going. This isn't a work relationship, I simply work there as a student for some cash then leave for good. Once I leave and finish teachers college, what is there to worry about? she is going to get fired for dating a student who worked there for 2 months? and how are they going to find out? I do appreciate some advices that will help me increase my chances rather than comments I already knew from the beginning of time.

If she was a teacher and you were her student not only would she get fired. She could lose her teaching license.

Well age differences are difficult but not impossible. Depends on how much each is willing to work on the relationship, but then there's the priorities of each age, do u have things in common, emotional maturity. Nothings impossible but having compatability is important.

lol being a teacher is a just job, I won't date any of high school kids, I know i would get in shit for that.

The reason I said I am mature is because you guy will definitely bring this up, so why not just tell you from start. I definitely agree that it may not be love, could just be fantasy. That is why I am trying to get more opportunities to talk to her to reaffirm my instinct. The whole story is what I already said in my first post. I try my best to find excuses to drop by her office to chat, if I do it too often and with no good excuse she will know I am trying to hit on her, then it is over.
