Definetly ask. Time is more valuable than money, and if you go into this only considering your point of view, you leave yourself open. Imagine this (dream haze shimmers in): you don't talk to her about it, she meets someone else and starts seeing them, you've just wasted how ever long cause she didn't know what was happening in your head.

And if she isn't prepared to wait you know before you commit to such a big step.
